Monthly Meet Up - Thursday 11 February 2010

The monthly meet ups are a chance to network and meet other community reporters from across the city. Part training session, part informal drop in, you can come for part or all of the session.

We will have laptops with wifi and other equipment on hand so you can get help on the spot, ask questions and try out new kit.

The event will also feature a special guest speaker, someone from a media or community partner who can share their experiences in journalism/media and help add to the discussion around community reporting.

Anyone can come down - pass on the eventbrite link if you know of someone who'd like to attend!

Brighton & Hove Community Reporters

Brighton & Hove Community Reporters gives a voice to people from all parts of the community, so that they can tell their stories and share their news, opinions and information. The project has three goals:

  • To help promote community cohesion by sharing stories and encouraging links between people from different parts of the community
  • To help improve the quality of news and information being reported from within local communities
  • To help people from marginalised communities to share their stories

This could include people who contribute to their local community newsletter or community websites, community activists who report on local issues, local news reporters and the many other people who want to share news and views about what’s going on in their community.

Brighton & Hove Community Reporters is brought to you by SCIP , Working Together Project, and the Friends Centre. Our media and community partners include the Argus, BBC Sussex , and People Voices Media in Manchester.
